Positive: The cottage was in a great location, very remote, but right by a small cove. It was comfortable and homely and the kitchen was well equipped.

Negative: Very poor communication. Having managed our own properties in Portugal I would change managers immediately as none of 3 email queries were answered. I used the telephone number hoping to find out how to make the hot tub temperature increase ( tried all the obvious controls) but a recorded message said they were closed for holidays. It’s a good job we hadn’t locked ourselves out!! We booked via booking.com but then got a further demand for payment from Sykes cottages? Outrageous - and wasn’t paid as clearly an error. Some small improvements could be made include. 1. Provide mop for bathroom / hot tub area. 2. Extractor fan not working in bathroom. 3. No first aid kit which was a shame as I had a small injury. 4. More and bigger towels would have been appreciated. THE BED AND LOUNGE SOFA WERE EXTREMELY uncomfortable. The mattress was ‘soft’ and the bed was very squeaky! 5. The TV appeared foreign and we could only get Netflix via our own account.
