Summary: This apartment is very nice and has a fantastic view from a lovely sunny balcony, perfect with a glass of delicious local wine. The bed is very comfortable, shower is great and kitchen although small is well equipped. The area is also very peaceful. Patersberg is very picturesque but has no shops or restaurants (although it does have a well equipped vending machine). St Goarshausen below the apartments has a supermarket and restaurants although be aware that a lot of these were shut Mon/Tues which was probably because it’s still low season and also a bit of a hangover from COVID. St Goarshausen is brilliant for catching ferries and sightseeing cruises on the Rhine. The apartment is on the fourth floor so visitors need to be ok with stairs. Also the view comes with a price, you need to be happy to walk back up the hill, it’s steep and takes about 25mins at a steady pace. If you aren’t happy with this then you will need to use your car to go anywhere and the road has some interesting hairpin bends. My husband loved it but less confident drivers might not be so happy. That being said we had a lovely time and the whole area is absolutely stunning.
