Beech Cottage - is one of 3 Long Barn Lakefront Holiday cottages in Callington with free fishing, indoor pool, hot tub & gym.
These three stunning holiday cottages are situated in 4 delightful acres with country side & lake views. In the heart of the Tamar Valley near Callington this is a quiet rural location with great transport links.
Long Barn cottages shares this idyllic location with our Trehill cottages. The grounds include a games room, 2 fishing ponds, outdoor pool (seasonal), play areas and plenty of space to kick a ball around.
The indoor pool, hot tub & gym are open year round for the exclusive use of Long Barn cottages guests.
Mobility friendly cottages - Long Barn cottages have no steps and are all on one level, meaning they are suitable for the less mobile.
Our two fishing ponds are a major attraction. These are private ponds with only guests being able to fish. This keeps them in great condition and means there are always plenty of spots available. Stocked fish include Carp, Mirror Carp and Tench. Top fish weight is about 17lbs
LIVING...
The spacious lounge has solid oak flooring, two leather sofas, 40” flat screen TV with DVD player & extensive film library. There is a dining table with plenty of space for 4 people.
The kitchen is fabulous. Granite work tops, with lovely views over rolling countryside. There is a fan oven, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and ceramic hob.
SLEEPING...
Bedroom one has a king size bed and a shower room with walk in shower with under floor heating.
Bedroom two has two large twin beds and an en-suite bathroom.
The bed linen is 100% cotton of the highest quality.
OUTSIDE...
There is a large private deck with views over un-spoilt countryside, a BBQ and teak patio furniture.
The pool, gym & hot tub are just a few metres away, open 9:30am - 7 pm and at other times for swimming lessons/training only.
The 4 acres of grounds of the Trehill Estate offer fishing, games room, , children’s play areas as well as space to wander, relax or kick a ball about.

Summary: Lovely clean property, reasonably well equipped. Excellent fridge freezer, very comfortable beds. The main fishing pond is well stocked but it wasn’t clear whether the second smaller pond was in use. Pool and hot tub very enjoyable. No sign of the DVD library, and it was a bit surreal communicating with the owners by email for day to day matters. Possibly due to Covid 19 there was no literature at all (except for a takeaway pizza menu) in the property to inform you about appliances or places of local interest. It’s a lovely location with the Tamar valley very close, and both the south and north coasts within easy reach. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
