Positive: Had an excellent two-night stay in the Shepherd's Hut. Jacquie provides a warm welcome & is very approachable & always available to help out however she can - a great host. She went above & beyond to help make it a special occasion for my girlfriend's birthday stay providing champagne, fudge, hanging banners & even writing a card 🎁 We made use of the hot tub on both nights which was a great way to relax after a long-ish drive & a busy day. There were sub-zero temperatures during our stay but the Shepherd's Hut is very warm & cosy and Jacquie provided gear (Crocs & a wearable towel/poncho) to make the dash between the hot tub & the hut bearable 😅🥶 The Hut features everything you'd need - kettle, fridge, microwave, cutlery, plates, cups, warm shower, comfortable bed, etc. The location has great views & there's a lot to do in the surrounding areas. A great base for Crichton parkrun or Queen of the South FC if you're into your football/parkrun tourism! Would recommend staying :)
