Tucked up tightly against the city’s downtown core, the West End is one of the easiest neighbourhoods for visitors to explore, getting a real taste of how real Vancouverites live. A gateway to Stanley Park, the neighbourhood is bordered by the park on one side, as well as English Bay, Granville and Robson Streets.
It’s the most diverse of all the Downtown Vancouver neighbourhoods. A mix of Canadians, immigrants, and international residents – both young and old – offers more of a community feel to this neighbourhood. There is a good mix between town homes, duplexes, large heritage homes and older high-rise units.
Directly adjoining Stanley Park, the West End is a great place to start and finish your explorations. Biking through the neighbourhood, along the Seawall, and into the park is a favourite pastime—bicycles are easily rented along Denman Street, and it’s easy to get around with dedicated bike lanes criss-crossing the West End. If you have a taste for outdoor adventure, rent a kayak or try stand-up paddleboarding right on English Bay.
Whilst the parks and beaches are the main attractions, people-watching and dining come in close behind. The West End boasts an eclectic blend of quality eateries at affordable prices.
Whatever you’re hungry for, you’ll find it on Denman Street! While there are some exceptional high-end stand-outs, the spotlight falls on an incredibly diverse selection of great value restaurants offering cuisine from every part of the globe. Davie Street also offers some great neighbourhood dining, with legendary gay hubs, farm-to-table bistros, taco joints, burger bars and more. And this is a neighbourhood that knows how to party, with enough pubs, brew-houses, and clubs to make sure you won’t go thirsty.
The property is also super close to Robson Street. With BC Place Stadium at one end, Stanley Park at the other, and the city’s best-known shopping precinct in between, Robson Street is a must-stroll for most visitors to Vancouver.
Our home is located directly downtown and is only a small walk from everything. We are also located near plenty of transit including buses that can take you to the surrounding areas quickly.
There is parking for two vehicles bumper to bumper. The streets around the property are permit holders only so if you have more that two vehicles you will need to park in the EasyPark next to the ice rink on Haro Street. It is roughly $19 a day. If you are staying for more than 5 days it is best to get a monthly pass as it is only $100.
- Strict noise policy in effect. Please respect the neighbours, and do not make significant noise or play loud music after 9pm. This is a restored character home, and loud sounds can sometimes carry between floors. People live in the basement suite and the converted loft.
- For those with mobility issues, please note that there is a flight of stairs to access the main entrance to the suite and stairs to the bedrooms.
- The suite is not equipped with air conditioning, however, tower fans are provided in each room.
