The old barn was restored respecting its original structure and style to give it a very warm and unique atmosphere.
For the barn's floors we used almost exclusively local salvage material including wood, old bricks, decorated cement tiles and roof tiles. It all looks great!
We bought most furniture pieces and the doors in nearby villages. We renovated them only when we had to and not excessively.
The guest house heating and hot water system runs on wood that we cut in our own forests in the area. We also have solar panels for hot water.
We strive to reduce waste through composting and recycling.
We collect rainwater for the garden, the organic vegetable garden and for the farm.
We provide cotton bed linen, down duvet and towels. Our cleaning materials and laundry soaps are home made with ash.
We garden without chemicals and produce organic food.
We can provide you with bicycles and maps to help you explore the surrounding area.

Summary: We loved our stay at the Bat Barn. The location, decor, wide open skies, and accommodations were absolutely perfect. The hosts communicated well and there were people on location who welcomed us and answered all questions. The location is perfectly situated to explore all of the southern part of Lake Balaton and Heviz. Thank you for an unforgettable visit. We look forward to returning. We loved visiting with the dogs as well as we were missing our four legged friends.
