Positive: We came to Köln for a concert and stayed in Mühlheim, which was in walking distance of the venue. The hotel itself is nice enough and the breakfast was excellent. Check in was relatively quick and easy and the room was big, clean and quiet. Parking is expensive (but this is Cologne) but secure. There's public transportation ~5 mins walk from the hotel that can take you into the city centre in about 15 minutes. The area has a lot of nice restaurants and bars nearby, including a decent bar in the hotel.

Negative: While the rooms and bathrooms were well cleaned, there is a carpet in the rooms that is fairly old. I didn't really want to walk on it barefoot. Additionally, while the staff were super friendly, we would have appreciated a forewarning on the traffic situation for arriving at the hotel: We arrived to Mühlheim from the north and there was construction on the main street where one would typically turn to access this hotel. There was very little information from the city for a redirection, nor were the constructions in the google-navi, so we had to figure it out on our own. The only way to arrive when coming from the north is to drive into Keupstrasse, a tourist street which is main effectively very narrow as it is nearly always parked up with large SUVs. I appreciate this isn't the hotel's fault (and the construction is probably over for future travellers) but it would have been nice to get a heads up from the hotel because it wasn't clear how to arrive, and we had chosen this place in large park because of the availability of parking
