Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Beautiful old building. Lobby and common rooms are magnificent. Room’s bathroom was lovely. Bed comfortable. towels and linen in good shape. Good location.

Negative: I wanted to love it. Close but needs some more attention to detail. Fridge in the room was tiny. No water bottles provided and no coffee machine or kettle. Floors in the room needed work as they were original and I get that, but the area rug provided was not large enough to cover the cracked missing floor areas. While there were beautiful robes for use, there were no slippers which were needed on the original concrete and terrazzo floors. Went down to the restaurant to get a coffee and a bun....Breakfast croissant was not fresh but crunchy. I want to love this place…it just needs more fine tuning and it would be great. Not a fan of the ROKU television option too. It's almost too basic a room to be a 5 star. For accessibility…I don’t believe there was an elevator and the parking was a bit of a walk.

Summary: I wanted to love it for the upcharge of $600 . Close but needs to close the Loop on being 5 star.
